SANDAKAN: Six primary schools in the Parliamentary constituency of Batu Sapi, near here received financial aid totalling RM450,000 under the Special Aid Programme of the Malaysian Education Ministry.
The recipients were SK St.Gabriel (RM100,000), SK St. Monica, SJK Pei Ying, SJK Ming Chung, SJK (Cina) Lok Yuk each receiving RM80,000 while SJK (Cina) Tai Tong received RM30,000.Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman handed over the cheques to the respective schools at a ceremony at the Dewan SJK Tai Tong, here today.
In his speech, Musa said the aid was part of the continuous efforts by the Barisan Nasional (BN) led government to provide service to the people especially in terms of education.
He said that each year, the state government provided a considerable amount of financial aid to specially assisted schools including Chinese private schools in Sabah. -- BERNAMA
